Hello all! I've been around but I haven't updated in awhile-- after the Holidays I was pretty tired, and then prepping for Sakuracon was about all I was doing last month, so it's been quiet around here!
Sakura Con went fairly well; I tried one of those cell-phone card readers for the first time. It worked fairly smoothly though it was really slow a few times. It did eventually work, though. Still not entirely sure how I feel about it, but it did what it was supposed to, and the charge isn't any more than any other transaction with Paypal, so..!
As always I had a ton of fun people-watching at my booth and chasing people down to get cosplay photos. If anyone's interested I could post a few of the costume highlights. I might anyhow, if I have any shots I think just need to be shared, heh. I went as Izumi from FMA again.. it's a cosplay I really like, though I need a whiter dress. I didn't realize until this year that they apparently never say her name in the English version, so now I finally know why so many people just call out 'teacher!' when they recognize the cosplay!

and

went as a pair of Lokis, so it was fun when they were around the booth with me. Some people photographed them even when they were just sitting there. At a convention, I'd take that as a compliment. ; )
ANYHOW This month is/will be about 3/4 travel. The last week and a half we were visiting my husband's parents while my husband went to a coding conference for work, and the next two weeks starting the 26th I will be leaving North America for the first time in my life and going to Japan, also to visit family. I'm incredibly excited to go, though now that it's only a few days away I'm worried that I don't have anything planned..! I have no idea when or if I will get a chance like this again, and I don't want to waste it..! If any of you guys have any ideas of must-do things in Japan, I'd LOVE to know your thoughts. ^_^; I do know I'm going to Iron Man 3 when it opens there though!
For those interested in commissions, I am still working away on them around the fringes of the rest of my life/other jobs, so while I know I don't post often and I'm probably one of the slowest plushers on DA, I'm still going and not planning to stop. I'm hopeful of opening more slots in mid May, so that's when anyone interested should be looking at having reference pictures handy! Sorry I'm not able to take more of these at a time..I'll keep doing my best!
ON THAT SUBJECT however,

currently has her
COMISSIONS OPEN
to raise travel funds, and she makes huge sturdy dolls of quality materials at very reasonable prices. (Seriously, her dolls are generally like a foot and a half tall plus change, I didn't realize at all how much doll you are actually getting with her when I first looked through her page) so if you're looking for a commission slot open right now, go check out her page and snap one up while they're available!
One last note, I'm trying to start professional caricaturing with the clown company I work with, and it sounds like I need to speed up my time! If you want a fun little speed caricature of you or even a character, leave me a link to a picture..! I don't know when I'll have time being out of town and all, and of course doll commissions get priority, but when it's time to practice drawing, I might as well make pictures someone might want, right?
Phew! Hope that's everything for now! Thanks everyone, and I hope your summer is full of sunshine and fun!
